Stream from Telestream Wirecast

Wirecast is a professional production switcher. Setting up a Custom RTMP destination allows you to send a single stream to Stream Repeater and restream to all destinations.

Choose “RTMP Server” from the Destination dropdown.

Enter ingest address

Paste the RTMP server URL into the Address field.

Enter stream key

Paste the stream key from your dashboard into the Stream field.

Start broadcasting

Close settings, then click the Stream button in the main window.

Your ingest details

Use these in the fields above. The exact values for your stream are on its page in the portal.

RTMP server rtmp://your-workspace.streamrepeater.com:1935
Stream key your-stream?user=your-stream&pass=sk_live_••••••••••••

Your stream key is unique and can be rotated at any time. A separate read-only playback key is provided for previews, so sharing a preview never exposes your publish credentials.

Pro tips for Wirecast

Small tweaks that keep your relays clean and resilient.

  • Ensure x264 or hardware encoding is selected under the encoding settings.
  • Keep keyframe interval at 2 seconds (or 60 frames for 30fps stream) to match target platforms.
  • Wirecast supports multiple canvas settings; match your encoding output size to your canvas.
