How do I restream on Streamlabs Desktop?

Streamlabs Desktop is built on OBS, so restreaming from it is simple: send one stream to a relay, then let the relay duplicate the feed to every platform you add.

Use the Custom Streaming Server option

Open Streamlabs Desktop settings, go to Stream, choose Custom Streaming Server, and paste the ingest URL and stream key from your Stream Repeater stream page.

If you want to compare the workflow first, our Streamlabs vs OBS article explains when Streamlabs makes sense and when OBS is the lighter choice.

Keep the source simple

Streamlabs adds overlays and alerts on top of the base feed, but you still want to output one clean stream. Set a bitrate your upload can sustain, keep the keyframe interval at 2 seconds, and avoid trying to send multiple direct outputs from the app.

Let the relay handle the destinations

Add YouTube, Twitch, Facebook or any custom destination in Stream Repeater. That keeps Streamlabs focused on production while the relay handles fan-out and per-destination supervision.

Frequently asked questions

Is Streamlabs Desktop good for restreaming?

Yes. It publishes over RTMP, so it works well as a source into Stream Repeater.

Do I need Streamlabs Ultra to restream?

No. If Streamlabs can publish to a custom server, Stream Repeater can handle the rest.
