How do I restream to Facebook Live?
Facebook Live works well as part of a multistream workflow, but it is not worth sending a separate direct output from your encoder if you are already publishing elsewhere. A relay keeps Facebook fed without increasing the local upload burden.
Get the Facebook destination details
Use Facebook Live Producer to create or prepare the live session, then copy the RTMP or RTMPS server information and stream key into Stream Repeater. The relay becomes the single source your encoder needs to know about.
Keep the source stable
Set a bitrate your connection can sustain, use a 2-second keyframe interval, and avoid adding more direct outputs from OBS or any other encoder. Facebook will still receive a clean feed, but your local stream stays simple.
Let the relay supervise Facebook
If Facebook disconnects, the relay can retry that destination without you manually restarting OBS. That is the main operational win: one encoder output, many monitored platform deliveries.
Frequently asked questions
Can I stream to Facebook and YouTube at the same time?
Yes — add both destinations in Stream Repeater and the relay will duplicate your feed server-side.
Do I need Facebook Live Producer?
You still use Live Producer to get the Facebook stream details, but you can keep the contribution path routed through Stream Repeater.
