How do I restream to YouTube?
YouTube is often the main discovery destination, but it does not need a separate direct output from your encoder. Publish one stream to the relay and let it deliver your feed to YouTube alongside any other platforms you want live.
Send a single feed into the relay
Use OBS, vMix, Streamlabs, FFmpeg or Larix to publish one RTMP, RTMPS or SRT feed to Stream Repeater. That keeps YouTube from consuming an extra encoder output on your machine.
Follow YouTube-friendly settings
Use a stable bitrate, a 2-second keyframe interval, and the right resolution for your upload speed. If you are also streaming to other platforms, the relay should carry the extra copies instead of your own connection.
Use the relay for the YouTube destination
Add YouTube as one destination in Stream Repeater, then let the service supervise the connection and restart it if needed. You can still use YouTube Live Control Room for titles, scheduling and metadata.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need RTMPS for YouTube?
If your encoder and the endpoint support it, RTMPS is preferable because it encrypts the transport.
Can I still schedule YouTube streams?
Yes. Use YouTube Live Control Room for the event timing and Stream Repeater for the contribution path.
